A 20-year old young man and worshipper at Redeemed Christian Church, Ayomide Oluyori, has been ordered to be remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town over alleged involvement in a sexual act with a 5-year-old girl.

The incident which has sent shockwaves to both members of the church and inhabitants of the area, took place at the restroom of the Redeemed Christian Church during a church service in Lagos State.

According to reports, the defendant, Ayomide Oluyori, was charged before the Court after he was caught allegedly having sex with the victim at the Redeemed Christian Church, Solid Rock Parish, Ojodu, Lagos.

The incident happened on 26th October, 2025, inside the church.

He was said to have lured the victim and defiled her in the process before he was caught and handed over to the Police for prosecution.

According to the Police, the victim’s mother reported at the Ojodu Division that she came to the church for service and as the victim went to the toilet to urinate, the defendant was peeping at her. By the time she was done, the said Ayomide went to the toilet with her. He removed her pants, removed his trouser and placed her on his lap.
