Lagos Father, Ojo Allegedly Beats Daughter To Death, Buries In Shallow Grave

Pandemonium struck on April 3, 2025, in Ojo area of Lagos State, as a man brutally killed his daughter in cold blood during a heated argument, and buried her in a shallow grave in their compound.

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos State, has confirmed the arrest of one Mr. Kamoru Ojo for allegedly beating his 27-years-old daughter to death.

The man identified as Kamoru Ojo has been arrested by the Lagos State Police for allegedly beating his 27-year-old daughter, Shakirat, to death at their residence in the Ojo area.

Police sources disclosed that the incident occurred on March 26, but was reported to the Okokomaiko Police Division on April 3, 2025, at about 8:00 a.m., following a distress call.

The victim, identified as Shakirat Ojo, was allegedly beaten to death by her father at No. 31 Oshinlemo Street, Afromedia, and subsequently buried in the compound.

According to reports, the argument which ensued between Ojo and his late daughter, Shakirat escalated into physical violence. resulting in Shakirat losing consciousness and tragically dying from the severe beating.

It was also gathered that, Ojo, while trying to conceal his dastardly act for the public’s notice, resorted to Ojo reportedly dugging a shallow grave in their compound and burying his daughter’s lifeless body. The discovery of the crime came when Shakirat was reported missing, prompting authorities to launch an investigation.

After a missing person report was filed at the Okokomaiko Division of the Lagos State Police Command, homicide detectives were dispatched to the scene. The detectives later uncovered Shakirat’s remains buried on the property.

Reports show that the investigation into the case persists, even as authorities intensify efforts towards understanding the full circumstances surrounding Shakirat’s death.

Meanwhile, the PPRO further disclosed that the remains of the deceased had been exhumed for an autopsy at a public morgue.
