To engage teenagers on dangers of cultism, drug abuse

The Police Campaign Against Cultism And Other Vices (POCACOV) will on Saturday, June 1, engage teenagers and youths in Lagos in efforts to make them see the dangers in cultism and substance abuse.

According to a statement made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the POCACOV Central Planning Committee, the event, convened by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr Kayode Egbetokun, is tagged, ‘Teenagers Stay Informed: Know the dangers of cultism and drugs.’

The event will hold at the Police College, Ikeja and bring together artistes like Papa Ajasco, Ovkings comedian, Omilinks, Donleo, Starry Meji, Tella Michael, while the Oniru of Iruland, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal is the royal father of the day.

Other activities slated for the day include lectures, quiz, debate, sports, fashion parade, singing and dancing competition, among others.

The National Coordinator of POCACOV, a crime-preventive unit, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi and the committee said that the idea is to inform teenagers on the dangers of substance abuse, while providing them with alternative activities that will make them useful to themselves and the society.
