A Famous Industrialist, Chief Ekeleme John, has felicitated with the Executive Governor of Abia, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti,
and all Ikwuano sons occupying various positions across the political compass, both at State and Federal levels, urging them to embark on developmental strides

Chief Ekeleme, in his admonition, charged the office holders to face squarely the extant deteriorating condition of both the State and the entire Ikwuano land, thus working assiduously towards attracting meaningful development to the good people of Ikwuano, the Senatorial District and State in general.

Speaking in a statement which he signed and made available to famousreporters.com, today, Monday, November 20, 2023, the renowned Industrialist and Philanthropist called for synergy among the various office holders, irrespective of party affiliations.

The statement read in part:

“I congratulate you all in various Positions across the political spectrum.

“Your emergence at different positions is to face rigorous challenges to bring development to the good people of Ikwuano, Abia, and Nigeria in General.

“I urge you all to work together as the best team to transform our Ikwuano into the best city in the world.”

Continuing, Ekeleme urged the them to eschew their personal interest in order to enhance effective representation and service to the people, while reiterating the need for the sustenance of democracy, advancement of good governance, peace and sustenable development.

Hear him: “I urge all to place national interest above personal interest and uphold virtues that will sustain our democracy and advance the cause of good governance, peace, and sustainable development.

“I urge you all irrespective of political party to work together and attract development for Ikwuano LGA and Build Industries to sustain a good life.

Furthermore , he enjoined them to endeavour to embark on policies that would improve and promote the living standards of the women folks, as well as the youths, while pleading for accelerated actions towards actualizing the construction of Umuahia/Ikwuano/Ikot-Ekpene Road.

“On this note, please, form a good team and establish synergy to work together and develop our dear State.”

Meanwhile, the occupants of the positions as congratulated were; the newly sworn-in Abia Central Senator and former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Austin O. Akobundu; the member representing Ikwuano/ Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha;

The sponsor of Nigeria’s Climate Change Act 2021– often referred to as the “Sam Onuigbo Act— and Governing Board Member and Chairman Committee on Security, Special Interventions, and Climate Change, of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), and Climate Change, of the North East Development Commission(NEDC), Rep. Sam Onuigbo, the Member representing Ikwuano State Constituency, Hon. Boniface Isienyi;

Abia state Commissioner for Agriculture, Prof . Monica Ironkwe, the newly appointed Mayor of Ikwuano Local Government Area, Evang. (Comrd.) Osinachi Nwaka, and his Deputy, Hon. (Chief) Charles Ugboaja.

In addition, Ekeleme who reminded that the people of Ikwuano were predominantly agrarians, implored the Commissioner not to relegate the interest of the people to the background as it regards improved agricultural seedlings and systems.

“I want to use this medium to urge the Commissioner for Agriculture to promote the agricultural standard ikwuano being the food basket of Abia, as well as providing our women with useful empowerment programmes.
