Imo Civil Servant collapses during Gov’s campaign

Staff of Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Council has collapsed during the proposed interaction the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma had with the Imo State civil servants earlier today at the Ndubuisi Kanu Square, Owerri the state capital.

It was informed that the female staff, whose name was simply given as Cynthia was among the civil servants who thronged the arena for the Governor’s speech which never took place.

It was further gathered that despite informing the Imo workers to be at the venue of the event by 9am, the Governor was not even at the place prior to the collapsing of the young lady apparently for being tired as at 3:15pm.

Eyewitness account told our reporter that the victim was immediately rushed to the Imo Specialist Hospital Umuguma in Owerri West LGA.

When contacted, the Director of General Services ( DAGS) in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area, Mrs. Mercy Okereke confirmed the incident, but added that, “the staff has been resuscitated and in stable condition now”.

Efforts made to speak with the Sole Administrator (SOLAD) of Ezinihitte Mbaise, Hon. Ojukwu were futile as he did not answer his calls as at the time of filing this story.
