It could be recalled that the contest for the representation of Ikwuano/ Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, which held on February 25, between the immediate past Speaker of the 7th Abia House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji of PDP and Aguocha, was a tug of war in the history of Abia State.

This was even as the situation, according to reports, deteriorated to the arrest and instant changing of the returning officer, (name withheld) for bluntly declining to all advances geared towards perverting the outcome of the election to disfavour the LP’s candidate.

To this effect, the Ogwumabiri 1 of Umuahia assured that he would not bring shame on his Constituents rather would offer them an effective representation.

Speaking, he said: “I am glad that Ohuhu people stood firm in what belonged to them; in ensuring that we contested for it and defending it and we’ll continue in our efforts to defend and protect what God has given to us.”

  • Ogwumabiri Ohuhu used the medium to rededicate his life the Almighty God, saying His grace, love and mercy which were manifested in his life life during the electoral process had captured his heart for God and at the same time, prompted him to believe more in the existence of the Almighty God.

“God showed us His mercy. Whoever did not believe in the existence of God before this day should reconcile with God and believe that He exists because there’s a living God and we should believe in Him, more especially His grace upon us. And my pledge is that I shall from now be committed to serving God.

The name of Ohuhu people shall not disappear, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Aham Ukoh PhD as a point of contact, I want to commend everyone of us who played one role or the other to ensure the success of this struggle.” IMG 20230620 003857
