Ikwuano holds Memorial Service For Late Barr. K. C. Ugboaja
*He’s ever green in our hearts… Deputy Chairman, Ugboaja

The entire community of Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, on Sunday, November 19, 2023 held a memorial service in the honour of late Barr. K. C. Ugboaja.

The service which was held at St Micheal Catholic Church Ariam diocese, on November 19, 2023, had in attendance members of the deceased’s family.

Speaking during the church service, the presiding priest, Fr. Tochukwu Emmanuel urged the immediate family and the people of Ikwuano not to mourn as though they had no hope in God.

Fr. Tochukwu assured that those who died in Christ Jesus merely fell asleep and would be resurrected on the last day, as he prayed for God to preserve the soul of the departed and grant courage to the living to bear the loss.

It would be recalled that the council and the entire State came to an abrupt standstill on July 8, 2022, following the shocking demise of one of their prominent sons and former Executive Chairman of the Council.

Famousreporters.com reports that the death of K.C Ugboaja which took place in the late late hours of Friday, July 8, 2022 but was announced the following day, July 9, threw both the immediate Community, the entire Ikwuano and the State into a melancholic state.

The remains of the people oriented leader and two-time Commissioner in the State were subsequently returned to mother earth on November 19, 2022.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Famousreporters.com, shortly after the committal, the Deputy Chairman of Ikwuano, Chief Charles Ugboaja, amidst heartbreak, wailed that the death of K. C. would remain ever fresh in the hearts of the people.

He prayed that the Almighty God continued to grant eternal rest and solace to the soul of the departed and the bereaved family, respectively.

He, therefore, urged the family to desist from weeping but endeavour to follow the footprints of the K.C whom he admitted had lived a life worthy of emulation.

“Barr. K. C. Ugboaja was a man who devoted his lifetime to rendering selfless services to the people of Ikwuano.

“All through his days on earth, K.C. desired nothing but the best for people of Ariam, his immediate community, the entire Ikwuano Council and indeed Abia State in general.

Although dead he may be, he is always remembered and is greatly missed by us all. All we ask is that God Almighty in his infinite mercy, continues to bless his soul and grant him eternal peace and to us whom he had left behind, may God grant us the fortitude to keep up with the pains accompanied by his death”.
