Onyendilefu Reveals Location For Memorial Library in Abia *Says youths’ reading culture will be provoked

The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abia state has disclosed that the proposed Pa Ishmael Ikpeazu Memorial Library of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration will be best situated at Umuobiakwa, in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia state.Sir Gabriel Chinenye Onyendilefu made this disclosure while speaking with Famous Reporters, in Aba, the state’s commercial hub, pointing out that the proposed library will be best situated at an interior part of the state, hence the choice of Obingwa.

The immediate past Accountant General of the state who expressed joy over the monumental project as embarked upon by the present administration, outlined that it was in commemoration of the Governor’s late father, Pa Ishmael Ikpeazu.

Hear him: “I’m so happy with what the governor has done; making a memorial for his late father and that is in the keeping with the promise which was also that’s the father’s aspirations.

We“I’m happy that today he has fulfilled it and done what his father desired for.”

Sir Gabriel in his ecstatic mood  maintained that the said Library would have huge impacts on the state and her residents with much focus on the younger generation, arguing that reading habit among the latter depreciated incredibly.

“I even like the idea of building a library and I know that that library is to be located in an interior place. You find out that now, reading culture is falling among our youths.

“But, with the Governor, erecting a library of that standard in such a rural area will provoke the reading culture among the youths.”

He, therefore, urged the youths and children to judiciously utilise the facility, saying: “if you don’t read, you can’t acquire knowledge. They should make full use of library to acquire knowledge.

And as for fathers, if had listened to the Governor’s confessions as regards his relationship with his late father, they would see what thoughts a good father should have for his children. Because if late Pa Ishmael hadn’t good thoughts for his children, there wouldn’t be a day like this”, he advised.
