‘Greater Honour’ To Call You ‘A Friend And Brother’, DIG Alabi hails Ogunsan at 49

Former Deputy Inspector-General of Police (in charge of Force CID Headquarters, Abuja, DIG Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, fdc (Rtd) today expressed his deep admiration and appreciation to the Man of the Moment, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan as he turned 49 today 6th October 2025. He expressed his glowing appreciation in a birthday tribute which he penned and received by the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP.

DIG Alabi who describes Dr. Ogunsan has someone whose life ‘has been devoted consistently to service, leadership, and the uplifting of others’ has had a great working relationship with him over the years dating from when he was the Commissioner of Police in Lagos to being Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG in charge of Zone 2 (Lagos and Ogun States) and when he rounded up his sterling career as a police officer as the DIG, in charge of Southwest, at the Force HQ, Abuja.

Described as Mr. Peace by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, DIG Abiodun Alabi stated: ‘On this very special occasion of your birthday, I write with profound joy, admiration, and gratitude to celebrate a man whose life and work continue to be a source of inspiration, hope, and transformation to many. It is a rare privilege to know you, and an even greater honour to be able to call you a friend and brother.’

‘Today, as you mark another year of divine grace, purpose, and progress, I join countless others across the country and beyond in celebrating your life a life that has been devoted consistently to service, leadership, and the uplifting of others.’

One of the best Commissioners of Police ever in Lagos State Command who uses the open door policy, media friendly relations, a refined gentleman Police officer which earned him a lot laurels in service, Alabi added: ‘Dr. Ogunsan, your journey is one marked by uncommon vision, passionate dedication, and an unwavering commitment to societal development. You have not only excelled in your professional pursuits but have also made deliberate efforts to pour back into the society that nurtured you. From your relentless advocacy for youth empowerment, educational advancement, and value-based leadership, to your philanthropic interventions across various sectors, your impact is both deep and far-reaching.
You are one of the few individuals whose integrity and generosity are evident not only in words but in action.’

The exceptional Ekiti Police officer who is known for his community police relations skills, DIG Alabi (retd) highlighted: ‘As a friend, you are dependable, loyal, and sincere. You have stood by those you care about with quiet strength and unshakeable support. I am personally grateful for the camaraderie, the counsel, and the warmth you have shared with me over the years. Yours is a friendship that enriches the soul and reinforces the values we both hold dear integrity, service, and honour.
On this auspicious day, I pray that God continues to strengthen you, grant you long life in good health, and increase your wisdom and capacity to do even more. May the seeds you have sown into the lives of others return to you in manifold blessings. May your days ahead be filled with the same joy, peace, and fulfilment you have brought to so many.’
