Encomiums Flow As Horn Publisher Celebrates Splendid Birthday At Sound Of Victory

It was a classic semblance of sound of victory as the Publisher/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Horn Group of Newspapers, High Chief Bright Chimezie Njoku, on Saturday, June 25, celebrated his 48th Birthday in a grand style.

It was a unique occasion spiced with exciting scenarios, in his religious programme Sound of Victory, with the attendance of many very important personalities who came from far and near to grace the occasion.

The event took place at Rockview Hotel, Government House Layout, Owerri.

In attendance were His Royal Majesty Eze Dr. Oliver Ohanwe, the Obi Gburugburu of Ihim Autonomous Community, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, the Chairman Governing Board of Senator Ben Uwajumogu College of Education, Ihitte Uboma, who was the Royal Father; Eze Morrison Ekeh, the Omadike 11 of Umuoma Nekede, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State; Chief Zick Nwachukwu, former Chairman of Isiala Mbano Local Government Council; Hon. Chief Ifeanyi Agwu, former Member for Ehime Mbano at the Imo State House of Assembly; Hon. Chief Austine Nwigwe, former Chairman of Isiala Mbano Local Government Council; Chief Dennis Okwu, Ebubedike Ikeduru, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sweet Apple Ventures; Hon. Chief Ngozi Ogbu and Chief Joe Cassidy.

Others in attendance included: Newspaper Publishers and Editors, among whom are Hon. Chief Henry Ekpe, The Trumpeta Newspaper; Hon. Modestus Nwamkpa, Publisher of The Big Truth Newspaper, who is also the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media; Ambassador Chief (Mrs) Shirley Munonye, Frontline Express Newspaper; Christian Nwokocha and Ifeanyi Nwanguma, Star Post Express Newspaper.

Former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Imo State Chapter and current Trustee Member of NUJ, South East, Chief Innocent Igwe, as well as the Chairman of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Imo State Chapter Mrs Dorothy Nnaji, Ph.D, were in attendance.

Senior Pastor of the New Wave Assembly (Faith World), Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria ((PFN), Imo State Chapter Bishop C D Jacobs, was there and delivered the Message at the religious cum birthday event.

The climax was the attendance of the Member for Okigwe South (Ehime Mbano, Ihitte Uboma and Obowo) Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives Rt. Hon.

Dcn Chike John Okafor, who took the religious worship to high heavens, as he mounted the stage to deliver gospel music extravaganza that invigorated the arena. He was joined by Boss Man, who took the worship songs to another level.

Kinsmen of the celebrant from Isiala Mbano came in their numbers to bid their illustrious Son happy birthday, just like Newspaper vendors, inlaws led by Ikechukwu Ejelonu, friends and well wishers also graced the occasion.

Highlights of the occasion included: cutting of the birthday cake, unveiling of Bright Chimezie Njoku Foundation, as well as presentation of birthday present to their Chairman High Chief Bright Chimezie Njoku by staff of Horn Newspapers Group and the Onion Newspaper.

At the unveiling of his Foundation, High Chief Bright Chimezie Njoku revealed that he had built a two – bedroom bungalow for an indigent family at his home town in Isiala Mbano and proposed to build a house for a man whom he said gave him his apartment to live in when he (Bright) came into Owerri newly. He hoped to lay the foundation soonest and hopes to hand the completed building over to the benefactor in December, 2022.
