Ebonyi State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, (SwanI) has commended the state Governor, David Umahi for re-introducing the school sports competition.
The group gave the commendation in a statement on Saturday signed by the Chairman, Emmanuel Nnaji and Secretary, Grace Egbo. The group, which said it monitored the competition from the local government to the zonal level, noted that the tournament is well packeted and organised.
“The Association commended Ebonyi State Government under the able leadership of Apostle Engr Dr David Nweze Umahi for re-introducing School Sports in all the Primary and Secondary School. “The Sporting activities have given hope to the young ones that have talents to showcase”the statement said.
The Association also commended the efforts of the Hon. Commissioner for Youths and Sports development Hon. Charles Akpuenika and Commissioner for Education, Onyebuchi Chima and their respective ministries staff and coordinators for their efforts in making the tournament a success.
The group also reassured the governor of their commitment to supporting all the programmes and policies of the state government especially the area of Sports. ENDS
