E.C.K. Foundation Inaugurates Ladies Wing In Nkporo Ubibia Bende
The town of Nkporo Ubibia was agog yesterday as the E.C.K Ladies Ubibia branch was officially inaugurated under the esteemed patronage of Chief Njoku Usim, who represented Chief Dr. Emeka Charles Kalu, President of the E.C.K Foundation Worldwide.
The E.C.K. Ladies Bende branch, led by Mrs. Oluomachi Chijioke, was greeted with warm enthusiasm from Elder Peter Otuu and Mr. Alexander Oparaku. Mr Alexander, who shared a short story of friendship with Chief Kalu dating back to their secondary school days, expressed deep gratitude to God for the blessings that have raised him to this prominent position, setting a triumphant tone for the event that continued to unfold with vibrant entertainment.
Chief Dr. Emeka Charles Kalu, a distinguished philanthropist and political leader, represented by Chief Njoku Usim, addressed the women with conviction. “Today is not just about forming a group; it’s about building a movement that places women at the forefront of progress and provides a voice for the voiceless,” he affirmed. Chief Usim seized the moment to enlighten the women about the ongoing voter registration and urged them to personally visit the INEC office for their registration and revalidation.
Mrs. Mary Peter, the leader of E.C.K. ladies Ubibia branch, commended E.C.K.’s unwavering commitment to social justice, education, and economic relief. Other speakers, including Mrs. Lovina Paul and Mrs. Chetachi Emelike, passionately articulated the neglect faced by Ubibia women, who have often been marginalized in the scheme of things and only remembered during election seasons. They earnestly called upon E.C.K. Foundation to include them in its programs.
In response, Mrs. Ijeoma Ibe and Mrs. Onyiyechi Chimezie shared their experiences of Chief Dr. Emeka Charles Kalu’s humility and accessible nature. They highlighted his God-fearing attitude and the importance of empowering individuals with skills over a bag of rice. They pointed out the ongoing scholarship and health programs designed to benefit the youths of Ubibia, which elicited a fervent chorus of, “Please, we need scholarships for our children,” expressing the collective desire for opportunity and support.
The event was a significant milestone in Chief Kalu’s mission to elevate women and promote grassroots transformation. The newly inaugurated E.C.K. Ladies emerged as powerful symbols of strength, unity, and purpose, committed to championing the Foundation’s values across Abia North and beyond.
What’s Next for the E.C.K. Ladies?
With their inauguration complete, the E.C.K. Ladies are poised to launch a series of impactful initiatives, including the E.C.K. outreach programs and comprehensive voter education campaigns. Their mission is in perfect alignment with Chief Kalu’s transformative vision for Abia North by 2027. “Bende sons are making us proud, and our women will stand by E.C.K whenever he needs our support,” declared Pastor Christopher Kalu, who concluded the event with a closing prayer.
As the sun sets over Ubibia, one thing is abundantly clear: the E.C.K. Ladies are more than just a group; they are a formidable force. With Chief Emeka Charles Kalu leading the way, their journey of empowerment and change is just getting started.
