Dr. Chima Anyaso Empowers Over 100, Bende Women with ₦200,000 Each, Boosts Grassroots Economy

“Dr. Chima Anyaso empowers over 100 women petty traders in Bende Federal Constituency with ₦200,000 each under the Ofuji Bende Women Cash Support Initiative to strengthen grassroots businesses and economic growth.”

Abia-born entrepreneur, philanthropist, and politician, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has empowered over 100 women petty traders across Bende Federal Constituency with cash support of ₦200,000 each, in a major boost aimed at strengthening small-scale businesses and grassroots economic development.

The intervention, facilitated through the Chima Anyaso Foundation, is part of the Ofuji Bende Women Cash Support for Petty Traders Initiative, a strategic programme designed to support hardworking women who play vital roles in sustaining local commerce and family livelihoods.

Speaking during the empowerment programme, Dr. Anyaso, who was represented by the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Chima Anyaso Foundation and former Abia State Commissioner for Environment, Ezeogo Dr. Emeka Onuoha, said the initiative reflects a deliberate effort to complement the developmental strides of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti.

According to him, the initiative focuses on providing direct financial assistance to women traders across Bende communities, enabling them to expand their businesses, achieve financial stability, and improve their living standards.

“We believe that when women are empowered, communities thrive. This initiative reflects our collective responsibility to uplift one another and create opportunities for sustainable prosperity at the grassroots level,” he stated.

The empowerment event featured a prayer session led by Pastor Okechukwu Dike, official presentation of the cash grants to beneficiaries, and a colourful vote of thanks marked by songs and appreciation from the excited women beneficiaries in honour of the Ofuji initiative.

The programme has been widely applauded by community stakeholders as a timely intervention expected to stimulate local trade, enhance family income, and promote inclusive economic growth within Bende Federal Constituency.
