Do Not Relent in Being an Effective Representative— Methodist Bishop Tells Rep. Onuigbo

The Methodist Bishop, Diocese of Umuahia West, Rt. Revd. Dr. Vincent Onoh,has described the member representing Ikwuano Umuahia North and South federal constituency, Rep Sam Ifeanyichukwu Onuigbo(Odozi Obodo), as an active representative, imploring him not to relent but do more in his effective representation.

The Bishop made this commendation while conferring an award of Excellence on Rep. Onuigbo on Sunday, April 11,2021, during the 10th anniversary celebration and award ceremony of the church.

Revd. Onoh noted that the Excellence in Service award which is under the non- Ministerial category, was given to the Federal Lawmaker due to his numerous achievements both in government, community as well as the church.

“It’s in the honour of your numerous services both in government and in community and in the church that we give you this Excellent Service Award. It is an award to tell you to do more,” Revd. Onoh stated.

He described the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South Federal Constituency as an active representative who has contributed to the growth and development of the church and society through impactful projects, adding, “because there’s more good things in the future for all of us. God bless you with good health and His blessings. Congratulations.”

Responding, Rep. Onuigbo appreciated the church for the recognition and noted that the recognition would help him do more in service to God and humanity.

His words: “I want to thank you for the recognition. I was told that an award is supposed to serve as a motivation for you to do more. So, I thank you very much and I promise to do more. Let me use this opportunity to place it on record that throughout the two elections that I have been able to do, this community as a whole has always voted for me so I want to thank you.”

The Honourable Member who cited the erosion control work he facilitated at Amachara, Umuokpara, Umuahia South, just behind the church as one of his major contributions towards the community, pledged to continue to assist in his bid to ensure a happier living for the people:

“I also recall that during the 8th Assembly, God made it possible for me to join hands with the Federal Government to be able to do the erosion control work behind the church which had caused a lot of problems. I want to thank all of you. I cannot thank you enough; I am happy to be here and I pledge to continue to assist wherever I can render assistance.”
