Do Not Interfere With People’s Mandate, Abia North Group Warns Akpabio

The senate president Senator Godswill Akpabio has been warned to refrain from any move to remove the senator representing Abia North senatorial zone, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu through the Court of Appeal.

A group, known as Abia North Political Stakeholders gave the warning in Umuahia after a meeting, following the allegation by Senator Elisha Abbo in a publication by Vanguard Newspaper that the senate president Senator Godswill Akpabio has a plan to remove distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu through the Court of Appeal.

In a communique signed by the president of the group, High Chief Emmanuel Uche and the secretary, Elder Emeka Igwe, the group said the senate president was exceeding his boundaries and should be ready to face the consequences of his actions. They described Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as a true son of Abia North who has imparted the people that of the zone positively through his wide spread of dividends of democracy in the zone.

“We have observed with utmost dismay, a scheme by the senate president, Senator Godswill Akpabio to use the Court of Appeal to remove the senator representing Abia North senatorial zone, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu. We want to make it categorically clear that the Abia North Political Stakeholders will not take such from anyone, no matter how highly placed, and as such warn the senate president Senator Godswill Akpabio to forthwith desist from any move whatsoever to remove distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu from the national assembly. Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is man of the people who has imparted positively on the people of the zone. There’s no part of the zone that has not felt his touch, ranging from road construction to human resources management and empowerment. Anyone who tries to remove him will be met with resistance.”

The group further passed a vote of confidence on Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
