OWERRI, IMO STATE — It was a blend of elegance, emotion, and celebration as Chiamaka Ettu exchanged marital vows with her heartthrob, Emmanuel Onyemachi, in a glamorous ceremony held on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

The wedding, which drew dignitaries, family members, and well-wishers from across the country, took place at the Christian Renewal Ministries (CRM) along Egbo Road in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

But beyond the glamour, it was the bride’s heartfelt message to single women that stole the spotlight.

In an exclusive interview, with famousreporters.com, the radiant bride, now Mrs. Chiamaka Onyemachi, cautioned against desperation in the pursuit of marriage, particularly among women over the age of 30.

Chiamaka, daughter of Prof. Lawrence Ettu of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), and Dr. Mrs. Theresa Ettu of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), emphasized the importance of patience, resilience, and self-development.

“I understand the anxiety and pressure, but God is the author of your life. He knows the right partner for you. Trust Him and wait.”
She described marriage as more than a social milestone, noting that it carries a divine purpose.

“Marriage is not just about companionship or pleasure. It is about purpose — doing life together, building a home, pursuing ministry, and growing careers.”

The young PhD student warned that hasty decisions driven by societal pressure could result in lifelong regret.

“There are many years ahead. Rushing into one aspect of life and making a mistake can affect everything else.”

On her preparedness for married life, she expressed strong confidence rooted in faith:
“I trust God completely. He sees the future, and I know He will guide me through every stage of marriage.”

Speaking about handling marital challenges, she acknowledged that difficulties and difficult times are inevitable but manageable with the right mindset.

“Understanding that challenges will come helps you prepare. With commitment and the right mindset, you can build a successful and exemplary home.”

She also described her husband as:
“A loving, God-fearing, jovial, and very handsome man.”

Delivering the homily, officiating minister Pastor Gerry Ukah stressed the spiritual foundation of marriage.

“Circumstances cannot override God’s purpose. Marriage is about companionship, not co-tenancy. Your spouse is your partner, not your tenant.”

He added:

“True success in life and marriage is tied to a functional relationship with Jesus Christ. Seek first the kingdom of God, and every other thing will follow.”

Pastor Ukah urged couples and believers alike to prioritize genuine relationships with God over self-interest. Also, he warned the couple and all Christina couples in general against exhibiting selfishness in their homes, describing it as the major problem of man.

“Don’t treat God as a ‘solution provider’ only when you have problems. Build a consistent relationship with Him.”

Meanwhile, highlight of the ceremony was the exchange of vows and rings by the newlywed couple, officiated by the General Overseer of CRM, Rev. (Dr.) Cosmos Ilechukwu.

The congregation was also deeply moved by the intense worship atmosphere, which stirred strong emotions in the groom. Overcome, he lay prostrate in tears, while his bride knelt beside him, equally emotional. The touching moment left many in the congregation reflecting on whether the couple was overwhelmed by the solemnity of the occasion or simply filled with profound joy at finding each other.
