In his burning quest to support the Governor in driving home his giant strides geared towards ensuring that the drastic effects of COVID-19 Pandemic is eradicated, Hon. Uko Nkole has taking it upon himself to ensure that all the destitute in his constituency benefit immensely from the palliatives he has provided.
“To me, it’s a way to support the Governor in his giant strides in making sure that the people get what they will eat to cushion the effects of the pandemic. No man can do that alone. So, I was just informed by that gap and I said let me at least to support in my own constituency. And I want to call on other representatives from the various constituencies to look into the side of the students because they are also exposed to the effects of the pandemic.”
Hon. Nkole who is the first Legislator to offer relief materials to his Constituency since the emergence of the pandemic and subsequent lockdown, while receiving delegations from the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS from across every nook and cranny of his constituent, at his country home, in Arochukwu yesterday, said it was in a bid to complement the efforts of the Governor, as well as federal government.” We are aware that the federal government especially the state government is doing all what they can to keep this pandemic from the people”, he said.
He commended the federal and state governments for the various measures deployed so far towards ameliorating the pains of the people, saying they are steps in the right direction, ad he used the medium to charge the students and every Nigerian youth in general to stick to the various preventive measures such as Social Distancing and abstinence from public gatherings.
A visit to the residence of Nkole shows that virtually an entire building is loaded with food items, ranging from bags of rice, beans, tubers of yam, cartons of Noddles, etc as different groups of people were seen leaving with some items which we learnt would be distributed to the people.
Meanwhile, Famous Reporters was reliably informed by some sources close to the magnanimous Legislator that the illustrious son of Arochukwu had over the years impacted positively on the members of his Constituency, adding “but he doesn’t like blowing his trumpet. He’s indeed a rare politician and we are really blessed to have him”, the source said.
