The people of EkeluUmuye Ihechiowa community, in Arochukwu LGA, have amidst regrets described the demise late Chief Emmanuel Nkole Ndukwe as a colossal loss to the constituency, Abia and the  Nation in general.

The people of Ekelu stated this today, Saturday, during a commiseration visit to the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole following the demise of his late father, Chief Emmanuel Nkole Ndukwe lamenting that the latter past on at the peak of the time the Nation needs his Economic ideas and financial expertise in this moment the Nation, hence the current drastic Economic meltdown consequent on the ravaging covid-19  pandemic

Delivering his Condolence message, the Traditional ruler of Ekelu Umuye community,  Chief Umeh  Nicholas Kalu prayed on behalf of the community prayed to God to rest the soul of the Banker per excellence, who, according to him, had served and  retired from the Central Bank of Nigeria as a Senior Management Staff in His bosom and grant the entire family the courage to bear the Irreplaceable loss.

In his words: “the death of Late Chief Nkole  is a colossal loss to the Federal constituency, Abia and the Nation at large having died when the Nation needs his Economic ideas and financial expertise in this moment the Nation is facing Economic meltdown as a result of the ravaging covid-19  pandemic”he said.

Chief Nicholas also  used the medium to express the entire community’s deep appreciation to the Federal Lawmaker for being the first politician  since the existence of the community to deliver dividends of democracy to them.

” Rt. Hon. Nkole, the entire Umuye community in Arochukwu LGA has sent us to thank you for attracting in the 2019 Federal budget through the Rural Electrification Agency the ongoing Power Enhancement in Upper Ihechiowa in Arochukwu LGA. The project scope has seen the community installed with  300kva Transformer, with the extension of 33kva transmission line and reticulation of low tension lines that will now service the community with stable electricity supply.

“This is in fulfilment to the appeal the community made to the Honorable member during one of his 2019 electioneering campaign tours and we are happy that it has come to fulfilment though at 80% completion but we are happy for his uprightness to keeping to the promise and we are sure he will see to the final completion of the project.”

He affirmed that they have never had such an upright Federal legislator in the constinuecy since 1999 as he reassured him of their unalloyed loyalty and support.

In their separate speeches the Palace Secretary Eld. Anthony K. Chiowa, Eld. Innocent Okoro Kalu, the TC Councillor of Ekelu Umuye and Mrs. Priscilia Osuu, the Woman leader of the community expressed joy over Hon. Uko Nkole’s unprecedented feats and achievements since his assumption in office and his active interest in bringing development to all rural areas.

They applauded the Nkole for keeping to his words regarding the reconnection of their community to the National grid, as they prayed to God to continue to give him the strength and vision in the discharge of his legislative  functions.

Responding, Honorable federal Legislator,  thanked the people for coming to commiserate with him in this moment of  grief.

He said “your commiseration and thank you visit will spur me to do more and I want to use this medium to assure the Ezeogo cabinet members that soonest, the concluding phase 2 of the project will be completed and ready for commissioning as it had  already been captured in the 2020 FGN budget.

Rt. Hon. Nkole further urged the community to continue to support the Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu led administration in Abia State, while promising to continue to synergize with the Governor in attracting meaningful projects in his constituency, with a view to  delivering more dividends of democracy.

Moreso, he advised the people to continue to observe laid down protocols by the Governments  to curb the menace and the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic , and pointed out that in the shortest sketch of time, the world will get over the disease.

Recall that on Tuesday, 14th January, 2020, Engr. Adeleye Mathew’s led teams from the Rural Electrification Project and the contractor handling the Power Enhancement project for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency under the 2019 FG Capital Projects, Messrs Abowa Company limited represented by Engr. Samuel Orji were mobilised to site at Upper Umuye in Arochukwu LGA for onward commencement and today, the project is at 80% completion.
