Breaking: Shun palliative, make Nigerians self dependent, NAVC boss, Amalambu to FG
By Charity Uwakwe
As the year 2025 crawls in, Rev. Dr. Blessed Amalambu, the Coordinator of National Volunteer Corp (NAVC) of Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Abia State chapter, has urged the federal government of Nigeria and all political leaders to refrain from intermittently distributing palliative to Nigerians, but endeavour to provide a lasting solution to the protracted suffering of the masses.
Th General Overseer of Christ Generation Ministry Incorporated, Umuahia and Secretary, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Abia State chapter, insisted that rather than continuing with the distributioln of food items to impoverished Nigerians, as a means of keeping in check, the extant famine coupled with inflation, the federal government should consider enhancing the living standards of the citizenry thus making them self dependent.
Amalambu, made the passionate plea in an exclusive interview with famousreporters.com, over the weekend, at his Umuahia resident, the state’s capital, faulted government’s perceived complacent approach to predicament of Nigerians, while insists that the latter should bring an end to it the hunger ravaging the country.
“Let us find a solution that will make Nigerians to be self dependent and let the economy and resources of Nigeria be evenly distributed even to the commoners and not the rich getting richer and then Nigerians poorer and everyone will be looking unto their palliative. So, enough of such. Let our resources be distributed evenly to all Nigerians through good administration and strategy.”
NAVC boss who accused leaders of the nation of masterminding the growing poverty which has mesmerised Nigerians, charged the former to re-evaluate and scrutinize their policies, as well as conducts.
He advised political profiteers to strive to emancipate the country from all manners of corruption which according to him could impede the growth and progress of the nation.
He bemoaned the hike in embezzlement, greed, money laundering, selfishness, regretting that it evidently characterises the behaviour of prominent Nigeria leaders, which he outlined had become the order of the day among most political leaders, and he appeals to them to endeavour desist from corruption and make integrity their watchword in 2025 and subsequent years.
“The leadership of Nigeria should rethink because their policies, conducts, and styles of leadership has never helped Nigeria and the Nigerians , instead we are being plunged into poverty, hardship and suffering. Therefore, there should be a rethink and reevaluation of their operational strategies to see those areas that will help Nigeria to develop. Moreover, corruption, self-centeredness, greed, money laundering and embezzlement of public funds should be avoided. And as I said, Nigeria should shun corruption and embrace integrity and honesty in leadership.”
Asked what everyone’s approach to the new year ought to be, the Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, (PFN ), Abia State chapter, outlined that:
“Because one has to reevaluate his past life; how he lived his life last year and compare his lifestyle with the level of success he or she has achieved. So, such a lifestyle that didn’t allow you to make progress should be changed. One cannot be doing the same thing over and over again and be expecting a different result. We should consider a new approach to all our problems. Above all, a close relationship with God Almighty will help to inspire new ideas for better solutions to our problems.
Speaking further, the embittered Clergy who described as gross wickedness, the act of diverting public’s funds to foreign countries whereas Nigerians wallow in hardship, an act which is common among Nigeria leaders, as he reprimanded the latter, citing the accompanying consequences.
“We can’t keep practicing the same corruption, doing the same criminality and fraudulent activities, turning our hearts against God then expecting something to change. No! Because, the money we have diverted and laundered out of the country is being used to develop other countries while Nigerians are suffering. It’s wickedness at the highest level.
“In the strongest term, I’m against such a lifestyle whereby one person will amass wealth, hoard money in underground tanks and the other hidden places whereas the people are suffering. We should not turn Nigerians into refugees because we are not in any civil war in Nigeria. The so-called palliatives do not alleviate the problems of Nigerians. It only gives little and temporary relief. A government where more than 90% of the people are very poor lacks workable ideas and positive strategies to move the country forward.
“Let us find a solution that will make Nigerians become self-dependent and let the economy and resources of Nigeria be evenly distributed even to the commoners and not the usual case of the rich getting richer and the poor Nigerians getting poorer with everyone looking for palliative. Enough of such! Not in 2025 anymore! Let our resources be distributed evenly to all Nigerians through good administration and strategy.” He insisted.
