Breaking! Benue Residents desert homes, take cover, over fresh attack
There is a sudden surge of terror in Tor-Donga, a community in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State, consequent on a deadly attack by suspected gunmen in the early hours of today, Friday, August 1.
According to some eyewitnesses, the fierce looking fully armed attackers invaded the area, shooting intermittently, thus compelling residents to evade their homes in search of safety.
The assault reportedly left several peopl0e injured, while many others remain missing as families scatter in the chaos.
Local sources said the gunmen stormed the community on motorcycles and began firing indiscriminately, causing mass panic.
“People were running in all directions. We abandoned our homes and properties; everyone just wanted to stay alive,” a resident who escaped the attack recounted.
Meanwhile, security operatives had yet to fully take control of the area, as of the time of the press.
