Breaking: Head rolls, blood spills, as wrongly parked Imo govt waste truck chops off Bus driver’s head

The yet to be identified driver of the bus rammed into the wrongly parked Imo govt truck, leading to his untimely death.

Pandemonium broke out across all nooks and crannies of Irete in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, yesterday, as a bus conveying market women rammed into a Waste Disposal Truck, said to be owned by the government of Imo State.

The Waste Disposal Truck which had the inscription ‘Imo State Waste Management Agency ‘,was said to be parked by the speed lane of the popular major road, along Owerri/Onitsha Express road, Irete.

Some of the women who were headed to the popular Ekeonuwa market for their regular early morning buying and selling.

However, luck ran out of them when the vehicle carrying the traders thrust into the government truck, leading to a rear-end collision.

The ugly incident took place yesterday, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, around 5:am.

An Eyewitness account states that the driver of the Hummer Bus, regrettably, could not survive the hit, as the accident had his head chopped off from his neck.

It was also gathered that the horrific accident instantly terminated the life 5am Wednesdayof the driver who had left his family early enough in his quest to provide their needs.
Also the passengers were not left out in the tragic incident, as they were left with severe injuries, as they were immediately rushed to the hospital.

An anonymous source who witnessed the incident lamented that the accident was prompted by the Waste Management driver’s ignorance and negligence, hence it could have been averted with ease.

Hear him:

“The bus was carrying bags of Okro and may be heading to the popular Eke Onunwa market along Douglas Road Owerri by 5am Wednesday”.

Continuing, he said:
“The accident as far as I am concerned was a result of the Waste Management driver’s ignorance.

“Parking on the speed lane of the express without using the Caution signs”
.
