Be Calm, Peter Obi Tells Nigerians, As He Wins Imo State With Wide Margin

The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has won the 2023 presidential election in Imo State. Famousreporters.com that three days after the 2023 election was conducted, Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, emerged winner in Imo.

According to the result announced on Tuesday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Imo State, Obi polled 352,904 votes to defeat his closest challengers, Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Tinubu garnered 66,171 to emerge second while Atiku scored 30,004 to emerge third. Among other states won by the Labour Party candidate are Nasarawa, Lagos, Plateau, Edo and Enugu.

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, has advised his supporters and all Nigerians to stay calm. The former Anambra governor made i Abuja, was interviewed by a citizen that shared the same flight.

“We should remain calm, consistent and persistent,” the flagbearer said. “All we are asking for is good governance. Let the government care for the poor people.” There are peaceful protests in some parts of the country as citizens allege altered results, over-voting and disenfranchisement.

Obi is currently in third place behind Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate. At least 20 states have been officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. The announcement of results from states continues today at the national collation centre in Abuja.
