At 32 Years: Abians Should Remain Resolute In Liberation Of Abia State – Paul Omeruo

Former Military Administrator of Kogi State, HE. Col. (Barr.) Paul Omeruo (rtd.) has congratulated His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti (OFR.), the Governor of Abia State and the entire people of Abia, as the State celebrates her 32nd Anniversary.

The prominent son of Ikwuano Local Government Area charged Abians not to give up in the extant fight geared towards the liberation and revamping of the State.

Meanwhile, Omeruo applauded the people of Abia State for their steadfastness and doggedness, amidst the many years of hardship and suffering in the State, and described Abians as a strong and potentially endowed people.

Speaking in a virtual interview with FAMOUSREPORTERS.com, today, the
former Administrator urged Abians to let go of their past bitter experiences in the State and focus on what the future holds in stock for them, saying “the best is yet to come.”

He admitted that the present government had, since assumption of office, demonstrated utter readiness to transform the State and the lives of her inhabitants.

According to Omeruo, besides the age Abia has attained, “there is need for Abians to celebrate a new government which has been perceived as a fresh breathe in the state.”

Moreso, he maintained that Abians ought to celebrate other things such as relative peace, their will power to vote for a party of their choice, in the last election, as well as the courage to move on amidst the storms.

Adding, he said: “We are not only celebrating the state but also Abians because by all measures, they deserve to be celebrated. Abians are great people.

“ABIA people are truly amazing, having unswervingly endured the most difficult times of their lives. They, since the arrival of democracy, have tenaciously held onto their belief that there definitely shall be light at the end of the tunnel.

Continuing, he said: “There is no doubt that the State, since its creation has not witnessed any form of significant growth and development but we are optimistic of the readiness of the present government to resuscitate the state and the entire local government areas, so that Abia can finally replicate that which it is known for, hence God’s own state.”

He, however, called on the people of Abia State to remain law abiding and support the government of Dr. Alex Otti, assuring that the 32nd Anniversary of the State “will surely mark the beginning of a new dawn in the State”, while also appealing to the people to remain focused and relentless as ever, in the extant struggle to liberate the state from the constraints that had held it down since the advent democracy in Abia.
