Assaulted Anambra Corper, Lawyer debunk Soludo’s claims, says no compensation
*Accuses Soludo of falsehood against father
Contrary to the claims of Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State, over the alleged compensation purportedly paid to the assaulted female member of National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Jennifer Elohor and her colleagues, the latter’s Lawyer, Barr. Cyrus Onu has vehemently refuted the statement.
Described the statement as baseless and false and misleading, Onu (Esq.) explained that the victims were merely given a total sum of 10k each which was tagged “transport fare” , adding that the token was accompanied by so much threat and intimidation.
Speaking during an interview with Arise Television, recently, the legal practitioner
said: “Jennifer and her friends were not paid any compensation whatsoever. As a matter of fact, the money that was given to them, #10,000 (ten thousand naira) or thereabouts was tagged “transport money” which came with a lot of threats, intimidation, to the effect that they should not speak to anyone about the incident, they should not talk to anyone about the incident as their lives depended on it.”
Similarly, Jennifer Elohor, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who was reportedly assaulted in Anambra State, has strongly refuted claims made by Governor Charles Soludo regarding her case.
The governor had earlier stated that the families of the corps members involved in the matter had called to request that the issue should not be pursued further.

However, in a video on Arise News, Elohor dismissed this statement as false and misleading. According to her, the individuals making such claims had never had any interaction with her family, particularly her father, who was allegedly cited in their narrative.
She clarified that none of those making the claims had ever spoken to her father, neither had they met him nor heard his voice, making it impossible for them to truthfully assert that her father reached out to them. She further described such claims as nothing but blatant lies.

She said: “These people don’t even know how my father sounds. They have not even seen my father. They have not even talked to my father before and yet they are lying that my father called them that he does not want the issue to go on which is a blatant lie.”
HURIWA DEMANDS #100m COMPENSATION FOR ASSAULTED ANAMBRA FEMALE CORPER
Corroborating, the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), on August 25, urged Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State to pay N100 million in compensation to Jennifer Elohor, a
It will be recalled that Elohor, a 28-year-old corps member from Delta State serving in Oba, Idemili South Local Council, was reportedly assaulted, stripped naked, and taken away for questioning by operatives of the state-owned security outfit, Agunechemba, over what HURIWA described as baseless allegations of Internet fraud.
The association’s national coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, advised the victim to legal actions against the government, should the latter fail to provide compensation as demanded.
