Arrested assassin, Gentle De Yahoo names Uzodimma as major sponsors of Insecurity in S/E

Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta, popularly known as “Gentle de Yahoo”, the notorious political assassin who was arrested by the Nigerian Army on Tuesday, says Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma as is one of the major sponsors of insecurity in the state and the South-East region in general.

was arrested by troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade after years of terrorising communities across Okigwe and neighboring areas, Sunday, September 14, 2025.

It is no longer news that the Imo State Governor, Senator Uzodimma, has, since inception of office, been fighting tooth and nail in his bid to bring to extinction, the presence and activities of the freedom fighting outfit, hence the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), thus tagging her a terrorism group.

Among the deeds of the Governor as reported by the media was the alleged incitement of the killing of young Imo boys over suspected involvement in IPOB activities resulting in insecurity in the area.

However, a video shared on social media platforms has indicated that before the arrest of the notorious terrorist in Okigwe, the criminal, without mincing words, indicted Governor Uzodinma, accusing him of being the brain behind the hoke in insecurity in the region.

Gentle De Yahoo alleged that the governor held several meetings with him, other criminal commanders and an unnamed man whom he referred to as his master.

In the video, the terrorist is heard saying:

“If Imo State Gov. Hope Uzodinma is denying that he did not have meetings with me Gentle and my master and all the rest of the commanders, if Hope Uzodinma swear over it, Hope Uzodinma must die.

“I am standing here to let the world and our people to understand the kind of evil man Hope Uzodinma is.

“I am standing firmly and standing ‘gidigbam gidigbam’ telling our people that if Hope Uzodinma did not have a meeting with me and my master and other commanders, let me not be alive.”

Reportedly, the successful arrest was conducted during a coordinated intelligence-driven operation at his hideout in Aku-Ihube, Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.

Military sources said the feared kingpin was nabbed following a successful operation coordinated and executed by troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade, working closely with sister security services and other law enforcement agencies.

According to a source from the military, “during the raid, troops seized a cache of weapons and other items linked to the group’s violent activities,” one of the sources said.

“Recovered items include One English-made pistol, 120 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 25 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, One cartridge, Six mobile phones, Military and Police uniforms, and, a German flag, reportedly used as a symbol by the terror group.

“In addition, the troops uncovered a workshop used to dismantle stolen vehicles for resale, disrupting a major criminal enterprise in the region. Ten motorcycles found at the scene were destroyed to prevent further use in criminal operations”.
