Ariam-Eluelu loses son to Akwa-ibom Land Dispute
*Deputy Mayor, Awuwa Sends Condolences
Deputy Mayor, Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, Hon. Lucky Awuwa has commiserated with the entire people of Ariam- Eluelu, in Ariam-Usaka Community of the council, over the unfortunate death of their son who lost his life during a communual rival between the community and the people of Obot Akwa-Ibom state.
This is contained in a release signed by the Deputy Mayor and issued to Famousreporters.com, today, Tuesday, February, 4, 2025.
The tragic incident occurred last Friday, January 31, 2025.
It is no longer news that the duo of Ariam-Eluelu and Obot have been at a loggerheads instigated by border disputes, hence resulting in the gruesome killing of one of the sons of Ariam- Eluelu.
Reacting to the awful incident, Awuwa urged the warring parties to sheathe their swords and embrace peace, while assuring that the governor would intervene in the crisis thus restoring peace and tranquility in the area.
However, he wailed that the incident which according to him, could have been avoidable if diplomatically approached, did not only throw the immediate family of the deceased into an irreparable trauma but also the entire Ikwuano community.
He, therefore, urged the immediate family of the deceased and indeed the entire Ikwuano council to take solace in God’s words, while promising that the Labour Party government of Dr. Alex Chioma Otti would stop at nothing in providing a lasting solution to the protracted dispute.
“To the immediate, I urge you to take heart. Evidently, this is a hard time for you as the death of a loved one comes with heartaches. Of course, this has created a vacuum that can never be filled but, please, be consoled. We the entire people of Ikwuano understand your agony, pain and sorrow and we share with you in all, for this is an injury done to the entire people of Ikwuano. And we say, nde ofekeyi (our people) take heart.
“Let’s not take laws into our hands. The government of Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, our loving Governor is aware and I can assure you that peace shall be restored.” He pleaded.
