Anyaso Shares Emotional Moment as Baby’s Surgery Succeeds After Prayers
“In a moment that blended leadership with raw humanity, business leader and philanthropist Dr Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, popularly known as Ofuji Ndi Igbo 1, has shared an emotional account of how a hospital visit turned into a powerful experience of faith, prayer, and relief after a baby girl’s critical surgery ended successfully.”
Dr Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso has recounted what he described as a deeply touching experience following the successful surgery of a baby he and his team had been supporting.
According to him, the emotional moment unfolded shortly after he departed Aba for Lagos, following the flag-off ceremony of the Enyimba Radisson Hotel project performed by Alex Otti.
“What happened today touched my heart in a very deep way,” Anyaso said.
He explained that on his way back to Lagos, he felt compelled to stop at the hospital to check on what he described as “our brave little baby.” Upon arrival, however, he and his team were informed that the child had already been taken into the theatre for surgery.
“For a moment, everything stood still. We couldn’t see her. We couldn’t speak to her. We couldn’t hold her tiny hands,” he said.
In what he described as a “quiet but powerful moment,” Anyaso said he and members of his team gathered around the baby’s twin sister, who was present at the hospital.
“But faith does not need physical contact,” he noted. “We held her gently and used her as a point of contact, lifting our hearts to God in prayer. We asked for divine guidance for the doctors, steady hands in the theatre, and strength for the little fighter on that operating table.”
Hours later, the much-anticipated call came.
“The surgery was successful. The baby is recovering well. What a faithful God we serve,” he said.
Reflecting on the experience, Anyaso emphasized that leadership goes beyond infrastructure projects, ceremonies, and development milestones.

“Today reminded me that leadership is not only about projects, ceremonies, and development. It is also about compassion. It is about showing up. It is about standing with people in their most vulnerable moments and believing with them for miracles,” he added.
He also appreciated those who had been praying for the child and appealed for continued support as she recovers.
“Thank you to everyone who has been praying. Please keep the prayers coming as she continues to recover. God is still in the business of answering prayers,” he said.
The emotional account has since resonated with many supporters, highlighting a softer, more personal side of leadership rooted in empathy and faith.
