Ahead Of LG Election: Ebonyi independent Electoral Commission Wages War Against Election Violence

In a bid to avert electoral violence in the forthcoming local government election in state, the Ebonyi state Independent Electoral Commission, EBSIEC, has embarked on sensitization and public enlightenment program
educate the public on the laid down rules and regulations.

The sensitization exercise which had the theme “Local Government Election As a Pernicious to Democracy” was held at 13 local government local council headquarters simultaneously.

Addressing Journalists at Abakaliki local government  headquarter Abakaliki, the chairman, Ebonyi state Independent Electoral Commission, Barrister Jossy Eze acknowledged the level of transperancy in Abakaliki local government, as he called on the people to eschew all manners of electoral volience .


Also, Abakaliki local government Chairman, Hon Emmanuel Nwegle who was represented by the supervisory for agriculture Mr Izuchukwu Nàkwada thanked the EBSIEC chairman, while urging him to remain focused in the conduct  a free, fair and credible election on April 25.

Hear him: “I know that the people of Abakaliki local government are known to be peaceful and respectful in conducting free and fair election”, he admitted, as he charged the board of the commission to ensure that elected leaders emerge without prejudice.

Meanwhile, the group commended the commission’s efforts in sensitising individuals on the forthcoming election.
