Again, Sen. Orji Kalu Distributes Educational Materials To 12 Schools In Bende LGA

Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu has distributed education materials to 12 public schools in Nkpa, Bende local government area of Abia State.

The educational materials were distributed directly to the pupils in ten primary schools and two secondary schools in Nkpa clan of Bende local government area.

Presenting the items, the legislative assistant to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Barr. Mbila Ayi, said the initiative seeks to improve equitable access to quality education in the Senatorial District.

He noted that education plays a vital role in the development of any country, pointing out that good education eradicates poverty and improves the value of people’s lives.

“Education is the bedrock of any development. No nation can develop without investment in education and its people,” Ayi said.

In her remarks, head teacher of Ugwu Nkpa primary school, Mrs. Nwobiara G.U.C. expressed her profound gratitude to Senator Kalu for investing in the future of pupils, noting that Senator Kalu has remained committed to the development of education in Abia State. She recalled how Kalu initiated free education across public schools in Abia State during his days as governor of the state.

Also, the president general of Nkpa development union, Rev.Dr. Emmanuel Nwaji, thanked Senator Kalu for the numerous dividends of democracy attracted by him to the community.
He listed some of them to include transformers, boreholes and road constructions, solar street lights.

Nkpa Central School, Okpuhu, Amaegbuato Primary School, Ugwu Nkpa Community School,
Community Primary School Amahoro,
Umuede Community Primary School,
Amaokpu Primary School, Amaediaba Community Primary School benefited from materials.

Others include: Community Primary School, Odua Nkpa,
Community Primary School, Nkpa Ukwa Nkpa,
Community Primary School, Ovum Ugwu Nkpa; The two secondary schools were: Ugwu Nkpa Community Secondary School and
Umuimenyi Secondary Technical School, Nkpa.

The educational materials given to the pupils and students of the visited schools included high quality school bags, English, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry textbooks, exercise books and writing materials.
