The Executives of Abia Youths Congress, a socio-political group that advocates for the interest of Abia State youths for job creation have unanimously poured encomiums on the Member representing Arochukwu Ohafia Federal Constituency Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole for facilitating the completion of the various gigantic projects in the area.
The group, led by her Director, Engr. Comr. Darlington Solomon, expressed their unreserved affection for the reputable Lawmaker, during their condolence visit to the latter, at his Ozu Abam residence, yesterday, as they prayed for God to grant the 79-years-old deceased, Late Chief Emmanuel Nkole Ndukwe eternal rest.“We pray that you and your entire family take solace for the fact that Late Chief Nkole lived a fulfilled life,” he said, as he pledged their relentless supports, prayers and loyalty for the Lawmaker.
Mr. Darlington while speaking further expressed utter satisfaction towards the eminent accomplishments of the honorable member, pointing out that, “Rt. Hon. Nkole has achieved a lot in human capital development, provision of basic amenities and infrastructural development for his constituency”, he said.
“We say thank you for towing the line of the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu in providing palliatives for your constituents”.
Furthermore, Cmrd. Solomon, who amidst euphoria, stressed that the achievements of the Honourable Member could not be overemphasized, maintaining that his constituency would forever be indebted to him, (Nkole).
“Which one do we thank you for and which do we discard? Is it Provision and installation of Transformers for Abam community, addressing the issue of overbilling of members of his constituency by EEDC and equally restored Abam electricity, Provision of 33KVA Transformer for Atan Abam who has been without electricity for over 9 years, extension of Electricity at Ahuma Abam; a community in Abam that has never had Electricity; Power Enhancement for Ndi Ememe, Odonyi College road, Abam.
“You provided and installed Transformers for the following;
Hospital road, Elu, Isiama Layout, Amaekpu, Akanu Ohafia, Timber shade, Ebem.
Enhancement of Electricity with A sub-station within the premises of Hope Waddel University and her precinct in Okagwe Ohafia.
“Restoration of light in Ndi Ibe and Oboro Ohafia, installation of solar street lights in Okagwe, Oboro and Nkwebi Ohafia, restoration of Mgbaga, Ebem Ohafia Electricity, provision of low tension cables to support rural electrification in Ndi Okpo Ihechiowa, extension and enhancement of electricity at Upper Umuye, Ihechiowa among others”, he said.
The youths also informed Hon. Nkole of their efforts so far in reaching out to the needy with palliatives, but, however, decried the unlawful killing of innocent Abians by Security agencies.
Also, they disclosed their resolve to embark on a peaceful protest in expression of their anger and displeasure over carelessness as exhibited by Security agencies who they noted were meant to protect the lives and property of Abians and not the reverse.
Responding, Hon. Nkole thanked the group for coming to commiserate with him at this moment of grief exigencies.
He thanked them for their efforts and encouraged them never to despair but continue in their good works to salvage the pandemic caused by the spread of the Corona virus.
On the extra judicial killing and carelessness of the security agencies, and their proposed protest, Nkole informed the group of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s efforts in curbing the menace.
Nkole revealed that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu had also engaged other Security agencies in the country with a view to finding a lasting solution to the incessant brutal killing of civilians, as he advised the forum against the proposed protest, arguing that such could degenerate to breach of order by the government, an advice they unanimously conceded.
