The Abia APC Renaissance Group has condemned a fake publication targeting Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, reaffirming its loyalty to him and commending his peace and unity efforts in the South East through the Peace in the South East Project (PISE-P) and Renewed Hope Partners.
Umuahia, Nigeria —
The Abia State All Progressives Congress (APC) Renaissance Group has condemned what it described as a “mischievous and fabricated” publication circulated under the fictitious name Dr. Samuel Onwuka and a so-called Concerned Abia APC Group.
In a statement released on Monday, the group said the publication was the handiwork of “political detractors” unsettled by the rising influence and leadership strides of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, who hails from Abia State.
“As the saying goes, the Ukwa fruit does not fall far from the tree,” the group stated. “Those behind this faceless attack are the same elements who have always been uncomfortable with the positive transformation Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu has brought to the APC in Abia and the entire South East.”
According to the Renaissance Group, the Deputy Speaker’s growing relevance at the national level and within the APC hierarchy, particularly his close working relationship with President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has unsettled political opponents.
Kalu’s Consistent Loyalty to Tinubu Administration
Since his inauguration as Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Kalu has remained a steadfast ally of President Tinubu, the group said. He has consistently urged the South East, particularly the Igbo community, to rally behind the President’s reform agenda aimed at revitalizing the economy, promoting national unity, and restoring public trust in governance.
The statement added that Kalu’s message has always centered on “cooperation, inclusion, and partnership — values essential for meaningful development in the South East.”
Peace in the South East Project (PISE-P)
Highlighting his commitment to regional stability, the group pointed to Kalu’s Peace in the South East Project (PISE-P) as a testament to his vision for lasting peace. The initiative, they said, seeks to tackle insecurity through dialogue, empowerment, and reconciliation rather than confrontation.
Through PISE-P, Kalu has engaged political leaders, traditional rulers, religious figures, youth groups, and civil society actors across the region in conversations on peacebuilding and economic inclusion.
Renewed Hope Partners and APC Mobilization
The group further noted that the PISE-P initiative is complemented by Kalu’s work with Renewed Hope Partners, a pro-Tinubu grassroots mobilization platform. Through it, he has “taken the gospel of the President’s achievements to the grassroots,” countering false narratives and mobilizing support for both President Tinubu and the APC.

“His efforts have helped challenge propaganda from detractors, including the Abia State Government and opposition elements bent on undermining the APC’s progress,” the group added.
The initiatives, according to the Renaissance Group, have received widespread commendation and helped boost the APC’s popularity across the South East, prompting notable political figures to defect to the ruling party.
“A Bridge Between the South East and the Centre”
The statement described Rt. Hon. Kalu as “a bridge between the South East and the centre,” whose leadership has attracted federal projects and increased visibility for Abia APC.
“For the first time in many years, Abia APC members can proudly identify with a national leader who commands both respect and results,” the group declared.
It further praised Kalu’s political maturity, diplomacy, and humility, noting that his influence in Abuja continues to open new channels of development for the region under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Call for Unity and Warning to Detractors
Reaffirming its “total loyalty and support” to the Deputy Speaker, the group urged members of the party and the wider South East political community to unite behind Kalu’s peace and development initiatives.
“We caution those hiding behind fake identities and pseudo-organizations to desist from acts of blackmail and misinformation,” the statement warned. “It is unfortunate that some individuals, driven by envy and political frustration, prefer to sow seeds of discord rather than support the progress being made under the leadership of the Deputy Speaker.”
The group emphasized that the Abia APC remains focused on strengthening its grassroots structures and ensuring the party’s victory in the next governorship election.
“Our mission is clear — to deliver a stronger Abia and a more united South East under the leadership of the APC,” the group concluded.
