Speaking at a massive Easter empowerment outreach that benefited over 400 residents, Nwaka not only reaffirmed his unwavering support but also rallied the grassroots to stand firmly behind the governor, declaring that sustaining Otti’s leadership is crucial for the continued development of the state.”
“Hon. Osinachi Nwaka, Director-General of Abia State Ministry of Finance Incorporated, has declared that Governor Alex Otti deserves re-election in 2027, citing visible achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education, alongside a large-scale grassroots empowerment programme benefiting over 400 residents in Ibere clan.”

A prominent political figure and Director-General of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, Abia State, Hon. Osinachi Nwaka, has thrown his weight behind Governor Alex Otti’s re-election bid in 2027, declaring that the governor’s performance has “clearly earned him a second term.”
Nwaka, a former Mayor of Ikwuano Local Government Area, made this known in an exclusive interview with famousreporters.com, shortly after hosting a large-scale Easter empowerment programme at his Ndoro country home in Ikwuano LGA, where over 400 residents of the Ibere clan benefited from various forms of support.
“This is our way of complementing what the governor is already doing across the state,” Nwaka added.

2027 POLITICAL OUTLOOK
Addressing growing speculations that the event signals early political mobilization for the 2027 elections, Nwaka dismissed the claims, insisting that governance—not politics—remains the priority.
“This is not about politics. It is about appreciating the people and preparing them to sustain a winning team. You don’t change the winning team.”
He emphasized that the administration’s achievements are evident across key sectors.
“When roads are fixed, hospitals revived, and schools are functional again, that is real development—not just sharing money that will finish in a day.”

GOVERNANCE OVER HANDOUTS
Nwaka cautioned against short-term financial inducements, urging citizens to prioritize sustainable development.
“Our people should look beyond immediate cash benefits. Good roads, functional schools, and healthcare services have a lasting impact.”
Transparent Empowerment Process
He explained that beneficiaries were selected through established local structures to ensure fairness and inclusiveness.
“We have coordinators at the chapter level who identify beneficiaries. Everyone will receive something, though not equally—because all fingers are not equal.”
PARTY LOYALTY AND DEFECTIONS
While reacting cautiously to rumours of political defections, Nwaka reaffirmed his allegiance to the Labour Party and the Otti-led administration, stating emphatically that:
“I belong to the Labour Party and work with Governor Alex Otti. What matters is that the government is performing, and everyone can see it.”
CONFIDENCE IN OTTI’S SECOND TERM
Expressing optimism about the political future of the state, he reiterated that performance remained the ultimate deciding factor.
“Power belongs to God, but based on performance, Governor Otti deserves a second term. He has done tremendously well.”
ON ALLEGATIONS AGAINST OFFICIALS
When questioned about allegations involving the Mayor of Ikwuano local government council, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Nwaubani who was accused of the embezzlement of funds, Nwaka unhesitatingly declined to comment.
“I don’t have any response to that. Thank you.” He said.
He, therefore, implored the people of Ibere and Ikwuano in general to embrace the renewed calls for unity, as political momentum gradually builds toward the 2027 general elections in Abia State.
Meanwhile, the former Mayor of Ikwuano council described the outreach as both symbolic and strategic, as he pointed out that the event was organised to appreciate the people for their overwhelming support during the 2023 general elections.
In his words:
“Today is a mega gathering to appreciate our people for voting and supporting Dr. Alex Otti. It is also to encourage them to remain loyal and reassure them that this government is working for their benefit,” he stated.

The empowerment programme featured the distribution of motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machines, bags of rice, and other essential items, aimed at improving livelihoods and boosting economic independence at the grassroots.
