#AbiaDecides: Declare Otti Winner Immediately, AC Guber Candidate, Nwankpa Urges INEC           *Says PDP and members are bad players

Bishop Dr Emeka Nwankpa, the candidate of the Accord Party in the just-concluded governorship election in Abia State, has frowned at the delay in the conclusion of the collation of the governorship election result and the declaration of the winner.

In a chat with newsmen, the revered cleric and philanthropist demanded the immediate release of the March 18 governorship election final results and declaration of Dr Alex Otti, candidate of the Labour Party, as Abia’s governor-elect.

In his words, ‘it is evidently clear that Dr Alex Otti is the winner of the election. One wonders what other magic the PDP wants to perform. A good player should know when the game is up. Unfortunately, the PDP and its members are bad players. They have failed to realize that the game is up. They squandered goodwill. They failed Abians, and they have dearly paid for it. They have been rejected by God and by the good people of Abia State. The Obingwa magic, which has always given them fraudulently victory in the past two elections, has become ineffective this time. That is why they are crying bitterly.’

Speaking further, he said, ‘INEC should, as a matter of immediacy, declare Dr Alex Otti winner. He has earned the victory. I can’t wait to officially congratulate him ‘

Recall that the results of 16 LGAs have been declared, with Dr Alex Otti of the Labour Party having polled 172,587 votes, while Chief Okey Ahiwe of the ruling PDP is coming second with 78,567 votes.

INEC announced the suspension of declaration of the results from Obingwa as a result of the attack on its personnel at the LGA collation centre, and has fixed Tuesday, March 21, for what it described as a ‘thorough review’ of the results by a national commissioner.
