Decrying the current deplorable condition of road infrastructure within Abia, Prof Ibe stated that he intends to commence palliative grading of rural access roads around the state once the dry season sets in. He therefore encouraged the house of assembly candidates to partner with him in ensuring that critical access roads, especially those that would stimulate the business undertakings of their constituents are captured during the palliative exercise.

In their separate responses, the candidates appreciated Prof Ibe for his sacrificial approach to leadership,” which has continued to manifest through the execution of several social intervention programmes”. Particularly, they praised Prof Ibe for the successful conduct of his free medical outreach and award of university scholarship to their constituents, pledging their preparedness to partner him in extending more social intervention packages to the people.
