Members of Abam Youths Fronts have commiserated with the Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole over the death of his late father, Chief Emmanuel Nkole, saying that the latter’s contributions to human development cannot be consigned to oblivion.
Speaking through the President of Abam Youths Front Ukpabi C. Austine during a commiseration visit to the Federal Lawmaker, Sunday, at his Ozu Abam Country home, Arochukwu LGA of Abia state, the group described the deceased, Late Chief Nkole as a peaceful man, community leader, fine gentleman and a philanthropist “whose contributions to human development especially in the banking sector will never be forgotten in a hurry.”
Cmrd. Austine used the medium to expressed gratitude to the renowned Lawmaker, recounting on the numerous developmental strides, saying
“we are aware of your numerous developmental strides especially in Abam in terms of human capital development, infrastructural development and provision of basic amenities.”
The group who had in their company some members of the Youth Forum pledged their unalloyed support and loyalty while encouraging Hon. Nkole to continue in his bid to attracting more meaningful projects across the federal constituency.
Responding, Rt. Hon. Nkole admonishing the youths on the need embrace education and shun all manner of social vices capable of destroying their future, noting that “education is a necessary tool that will prepare and nurture someone for a better tomorrow”, he advised, as he promised to continue to carry the youths along, while thanking them for their visit.
Rt. Hon. Nkole used the medium to innumerate the various completed and ongoing projects in Abam clan as follows and beyond ranging from the construction of Ndi Okereke Abam Water Scheme which has been completed; the ongoing construction of Abam Surface Water Scheme and Treatment Plant; rehabilitation of Anyim bridge that links Abia to Akwaibom State in Atani Abam, completed since 2016; rehabilitation of Afagala bridge, Idima Abam, completed since 2016.
“Rehabilitation of Ndi Ebe Abam bailey bridge- 95% completion; Ongoing Extension of Electricity at Ahuma Abam; a community in Abam that has never had Electricity; Attracted the funding in the 2020 Federal Government Appropriation Act for the ongoing rehabilitation of the F107 road; Umuahia- Bende-Ozu Abam-Ohafia Federal road to the tune of 172 million while the contractor handling the landslide projects at Ajata Ibeku and Bende along the arterial road are back on site.
“Other projects that got funded in the 2020 National budget is the ongoing rehabilitation of Arochukwu-Ohafia -Federal road with the contract no: 6481 at the tune of 690 million naira awarded to SETRACO/HARTLAND CONSTRUCTION COMPANY LIMITED
