The Member representing Arochukwu /Ohafia Federal Constituency of Abia State at the House of Representatives, at the House of Representatives has charged the newly inaugurated Arochukwu LGA PDP Executives to maintain a cordial relationship with their aggrieved counterparts at the just concluded party’s Congresses.
It would be recalled that the party had prior to the Lockdown Order held her Ward and local government congresses.
Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole gave this charge today, while addressing a delegation of PDP Executives in Arochukwu, led by the newly inaugurated LGA Chairman of the party, Hon. Sunday Okemini, at his Ozu Abam country home, in Arochukwu, and pointed out the need for the newly elected officials of the party to “be magnanimous in victory and to extend the hand of fellowership to everyone especially the aggrieved contestants that lost in the contest, he said.
Nkole assured the Executives that I will convey their plights to the leader of the party in the State and the Vice Chairman of PDP Governors Forum, Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, as well as the National Chairman of the Party, Prince Uche Secondus, and the National Organising Secretary, Col. Austin Akobundu (Rtd), while encouraging them “to visit and familiarise themselves with other party leaders in the LGA
“And I promise to give you maximum support and I urge you to discharge your duties without fear from any quarters”, he advised.
Earlier in his remarks, the leader of the Delegates and the newly elected Chairman, Hon. Okemini assured their political leader in the Constituency of their unalloyed loyalty and solidarity to “the leader of the party in the State, Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu and the National Working Committee members of our great party.’
According to him m, their visit was borne out of their desire to acquaint themselves with the Federal Lawmaker, which he affirmed was in line with the long existing tradition of the Peoples Democratic Party
“Hon. Sir, on behalf of the Executives of PDP in the LGA, I promise that with our emergence, the Governor and the grassroot has retooled the party going forward to win all her future elections for all the party candidates. The era of party candidates suffering crushing electoral defeats in the LGA is gone”, he pledged, as thanked the entire PDP family for voting massively for them during the last Congresses.
“And I assured our people that the opportunity given to us to serve will not be compromised.”
Meanwhile, present at the meeting were; the Deputy Chairman, Hon. Francis Okoro and the representative of the Chairman of All ward Chairmen, Mr Ulu Kalu, Ovukwu Abam PDP ward Chairman.
