Mystery in Owerri as Woman Reportedly Appears at Shop Minutes Before Death Announcement

A 29-year-old mother was reportedly seen collecting her belongings from a shop in Owerri—only for her husband to announce minutes later that she had died during childbirth. What happened next has left former colleagues deeply unsettled.

A bizarre incident surrounding the reported death of a 29-year-old mother in Owerri, Imo State, has left her former colleagues, friends and well-wishers struggling to make sense of what happened.

The woman, identified as Ann Chioma, was reportedly seen at her former workplace around Jamanze, near Douglas Road in Owerri, shortly before news of her death during childbirth emerged.

According to an account shared by Ezinne Maxima, Ann, who previously worked as a hairstylist at the location, had visited the shop to collect some of her personal belongings.

Those who were reportedly at the shop had no reason to suspect anything unusual as they watched her leave the premises.

However, the situation reportedly took a shocking turn less than 10 minutes later when her husband allegedly contacted the people at the shop with the news that his wife had died while giving birth.

The timing of the two events reportedly left those who had seen Ann moments earlier confused and deeply distressed.

Claims of Subsequent Appearances

The incident reportedly became even more unsettling after claims emerged that Ann continued to appear at the workplace following her death.

The reports have fuelled speculation among some people familiar with the story, with some suggesting that the woman seen at the shop may have been a spiritual apparition.

However, there is no verified evidence to establish that claim, and the identity of the person reportedly seen at the shop has not been independently confirmed.

In another emotional development, Ann’s former colleagues, friends and well-wishers reportedly gathered some of her belongings, including chairs, clothes, wigs and hair extensions, and took them to her graveside.

They were said to have pleaded with her to rest in peace and stop returning to the shop, while mourning the loss of the young mother.

The unusual account has since generated reactions on social media, with many people expressing shock over the reported sequence of events and asking questions about what could have happened.

For now, the circumstances surrounding Ann’s reported death, her alleged visit to the shop and the subsequent claims of her appearances remain unverified.

There is also no independent confirmation that the person reportedly seen at the shop after her death was a supernatural apparition.

The story, nevertheless, continues to leave those familiar with it with one disturbing question: How could a woman reportedly seen alive at a workplace only minutes earlier become the subject of a death announcement?
