The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Abia Central, former Rep. Hon. Emeka Atuma, has commenced a ward-to-ward campaign tour of Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area ahead of the 2027 general elections, engaging party stakeholders and supporters while promising to address infrastructure challenges in the area.

Atuma began the campaign tour at Amaitolu Ward 2, where he was received by the APC candidate for Osisioma Ngwa South State Constituency, Hon. Barr. Ogumka Iheanacho, popularly known as The Duke.

Other party stakeholders present included the APC candidate for Osisioma Ngwa/Ugwunagbo/Obingwa Federal Constituency, Hon. Udo Alozie; the party’s candidate for Osisioma Ngwa North State Constituency, Hon. Iheyinna Mgbeahuru; and the APC chairman in Osisioma Ngwa LGA, Hon. Amarachukwu Nwafor.

Atuma was accompanied by the Director-General of his campaign council, Hon. Chidi Nwosu; Hon. Emmanuel Nwaohiara Kolean, APC State Auditor and Secretary of the Atuma Campaign Council; Prince Tony Eze; Dr. Patrick Ikechi; High Chief Paul Meregini; and other party leaders and supporters.

APC Leaders Call for Support for Party Candidates

Welcoming the campaign team, Iheanacho urged residents to support all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

He expressed confidence in the support of the people of Osisioma Ngwa, noting that the local government had the largest number of voters in Abia Central. He also pledged that the votes mobilised in the area would reflect its support for Atuma’s senatorial ambition.

Addressing the gathering, Atuma thanked the people of Amaitolu Mbutu for their reception and appealed to them to support candidates of the APC across the different levels of government.

He listed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Eric Opah, and its candidates for the Abia Central senatorial seat, Osisioma Ngwa/Ugwunagbo/Obingwa Federal Constituency, Osisioma Ngwa South State Constituency and Osisioma Ngwa North State Constituency among those he urged the electorate to support.

The campaign team subsequently moved to Mbutu Umuojima Ward 11, where Atuma was received by party stakeholders and supporters.

Speaking at the ward, the senatorial candidate drew attention to the poor condition of roads in the area, criticising what he described as the present administration’s neglect of the community.

He pledged to work towards attracting road projects to the area if elected to represent Abia Central in the Senate.

Atuma also cautioned residents against politicians he accused of making promises to the electorate without fulfilling them after elections.
