Atuma Unity Cup: Ngwa Community Celebrates Kabila
By Prince Kelechi Prico
Cheers, excitement and community solidarity marked the opening of the Atuma Unity Cup in Abia as Ngwa supporters celebrated Emeka Atuma, popularly known as Kabila.
The Atuma Unity Cup has kicked off at Umuomai-Ukwu in Isialangwa North LGA, Abia State, bringing football enthusiasts together as supporters celebrate Emeka Atuma and his ambition to represent Abia Central Senatorial District in 2027.

Today was not just about football. Today was about love. Today was about affirmation.
The Atuma Unity Cup kicked off in a blaze of glory at Umuomai-Ukwu, Isialangwa North LGA of Abia State, and what we witnessed went beyond sports.
The entire Ngwa land came alive as men, women, youths, elders, and traditional leaders turned out in large numbers, not just to watch football but also to demonstrate their organic, unfiltered, and undiluted love for a man who has shown them love in return — Rep. Emeka Atuma.
The chants were loud: “Our own Kabila!” The atmosphere was electric, and the message was clear.
From Umuomai-Ukwu to other parts of Isialangwa North, supporters expressed their confidence in Atuma, declaring their support for his ambition to represent Abia Central Senatorial District in the Senate come 2027.
It was deeply touching to see Ngwa people host a tournament in honour of an Ikwuano son and celebrate him as one of their own. That is the true meaning of this year’s theme: “Sports Unites Our People.” Sports have indeed brought the Ngwa and Ikwuano/Umuahia communities closer together.
Rep. Emeka Atuma has once again demonstrated that leadership is not merely about where one comes from but also about the lives one touches. His supporters in Ngwa land remember his past contributions and kindness during his time in the House of Representatives, even 19 years later.
Today, they expressed their appreciation through an impressive turnout and enthusiastic displays of support for his senatorial ambition.
This is more than a football tournament. It is a celebration of unity, a demonstration of goodwill, and a reminder of the bonds that can exist between communities.
Abia Central, get ready. The Atuma train is gathering momentum, propelled by the support and enthusiasm of his followers.
Thank you, good people of Umuomai-Ukwu. Thank you, Isialangwa North. Thank you, Ngwa land.
