I’ll Resign If My Government Owe Up To Four Months Salaries, Pension, Emenike Vows
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, High Chief Ikechi Emenike has described as criminality and sinful
for any leader to confiscate the salaries and pensions of the people he has been elected to lead and protect.
Speaking at the flag off of his governorship campaign tour in Ikwuano, Ikechi Emenike, said that he will resign as governor if his government should owe workers and pensioners four months, ” we will push for executive bill that we will compel the governor to resign if salaries and pensions are owed for four months.
“It is an act of criminality and a sin before God for any leader not to pay salaries and pension as at when due.”
“I know that some people will not like me because it will not be business as usual when we become the governor, so they will attempt to sabotage us and make me resign by deliberately frustrating our efforts. Sorry I have their antidotes, if after two months the workers and pensioners have not been paid, I’ll sack the Accountant General, if after another two weeks my directives have not been obeyed I’ll sack the Commissioner for Finance and personally handle the payment.
Ikechi Emenike, maintained that the party is united in their bid to Rescue and Develop Abia, but stressed that any candidate who is found to be undermining the party will be sanctioned.
He, therefore, charged them to troop out in their numbers to come vote for APC during the two elections. Emenike assured them that their votes will count as no one will again manipulate the election.
