2023: Will Buhari Hand Over Power To A Drug Lord after 1984 execution of convicts? — Ohanaeze Youth Queries presidency
The apex socio-cultural youth organization of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) has queried President Muhammadu Buhari’s intention to hand over power to an alleged drug lord indicted by the United States of America government.
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri on Tuesday 28 March, 2023, the National President Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, reminded President Buhari how he, as a former military Head of State, backed the Decree 20 which stipulated death penalty for drug-related offences and the defaulting trio were unable to escape the executioner’s bullet.
Comrade Igboayaka frowned that “Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari was in a desperate move to score a cheap point in his intolerance and fight against indiscipline in government and intentionally backdated the Decree 20 in order to execute the trio who committed drug-related offences before he came in as Head of State.
“On that fateful day, the policemen and soldiers had hard time in controlling the huge crowd that had gathered outside the Kirikiri maximum prison to witness the execution(by firing squad) of 3 men convicted of drug trafficking and other drug-related offences by a tribunal set up by Gen. Buhari in 1984. The unfortunate three men were Bartholomew Azubuike Owoh 26, Lawal Akanni Ojuolape 30, Bernard Ogedengbe 29.
“In Gen. Mohammadu Buhari’s speech after the execution, he claimed that the execution was morally necessary and would help eradicate corruption and instill discipline in the polity.”
“Today, the main Drug Lord and Master, Bola Ahmed Tinubu presumably could be the Drug Boss to Mr Bartholomew, Mr Lawal and Mr. Ogedengbe whom the United States of America indicted since 1993 after he forfeited a huge sum of $460,000 accrued from his illicit drug business, is the man Maj. Gen Muhammadu Buhari who signed the execution of Mr. Bartholomew, Mr. Lawal and Mr. Ogedengbe is planning to hand over Nigeria to him.
“Obviously, the delay of President Buhari in obeying the court ruling ordering the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and having participated in rigging the worst election in Africa with impunity and rascality has undoubtedly made Nigerians and, indeed, the world believe that he is the most corrupt president in Nigeria and Africa at large.
“The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu padding votes for Bola Tinubu and declaring him President-elect is unconstitutional, illegal and a call for anarchy in the Nigeria federation. Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has proven to the Nigerian people and the world at large that he is the most corrupt professor in the academic field and must pay dearly for this electoral criminality against Nigerians.
Continuing, Igboayaka said: “If President Muhammadu Buhari hands over power to Bola Tinubu, it will be historically recorded that he is the most wicked and corrupt president ever lived in the surface of the earth.
“Without mincing words, the world is now watching to see whether the same Buhari of 1984, except of course, if the person in Aso-Rock is not Muhammadu Buhari, would dare hand over the most populous African nation to a man who has evidential links to illicit drug dealings,” Comrade Igboayaka concluded.
