2023 Presidency: Group Endorses Orji Kalu

A political pressure group, The National Grass Movement of Nigeria, has endorsed Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, a former Governor of Abia State to succeed President MuhammaduBuhariin2023.

The National Coordinator, Mrs Ngozi Akaniru, who presided over the national conference of the movement in Awka, Anambra State, held last weekend, heartily appealed to the Senator to join the presidential race, saying, “Nigerians are impatiently waiting for him to rescue the country.”

Akaniru, while addressing over 2,000 delegates drawn from the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), said the Senate Chief Whip’s acceptance nationwide leaves no one in doubt thatif hepresentshimself, he will develop the country.

The National Secretary, Akataobu Clement, said Nigerians, especially at the grassroots, had decided to prevail on the former governor to contest the presidency.

According to Clement, the group has over 17 million followers across Nigeria, most of whom are between the 30 and 40 years that are eligible voters.

He said: “What we are asking our amiable Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is to declare his interest. Nigerians are waiting for him and he is eminently qualified for the position.”
