2023: Power Must Not Be Centralised, Otigbu-Inyinya Declares,

As the tussle on who would succeed the incumbent member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency of Abia State heightens, the entire people of Ndagbo and Ukwulaga Afaraukwu Ibeku, in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State have unanimously declared their unrelenting support for the Labour Party candidate, Sir Obi Aguocha.

This is even as the D-Day is barely a week away, hence the struggle to ensure that the people of Ikwuano/ Umuahia North and South elect a credible candidate, who would in return, inreservedly,
extend to them dividends of democracy.

Addressing the people of Ndagbo, yesterday, at the Community’s Hall, Chief Ikechukwu Ndubueze maintained that power ought to be decentralized, to ensure that no section of the Constituency feels marginalised.

Otigbu-Inyinya Afara stormed the stage with a popular native song: “mmara akara di uto; onye ratu I be ya aratu”, which when translated means (that the bean cake oil tastes nice and, therefore, must not be restricted to just an individual), as he called on the people not to relegate to the background, principle of equity, fairness and justice in the forthcoming general election, slated for February 25.

Addressing the people of Ndago, Chief Ikechukwu regretted that the people of Afaraukwu had over the years, scarcely felt the presence of Governorship in their midst, while also insisting that it is the turn of Ohuhu clan to produce the next House of Representative member.

He, therefore, in agreement with the people of Afara, swore their unalloyed support for Obi Aguocha.IMG 20230217 WA0024 IMG 20230217 WA0025

Hear him: “we all can testify to what our situation has been. The truth of the matter is that Ikwuano/Umuahia had Chomen as the first representative of the Federal House, after which, Atuma from Ikwuano, after which, Sir Stanley Ohajiriuka from Ibeku, Back To Umuahia South represented by Oluchi and then returned to Ikwuano with Sam Onuigbo who is the incumbent representative. Now, it’s back to Umuahia North, isn’t it right for Ohuhu to produce the next?, He wondered.

Continuing, Otigbu-Inyinya of Afaraukwu said: “Four years ago, I accompanied Chinedum my friend to this place to solicit our votes but I wouldn’t because of my friendship with him, and I wouldn’t do the right thing.

He, therefore, assured Aguocha that the community, in its entirety would throw their weights behind him to ensure his successful emergence as the next House of Representatives Member.

Also, Madam Comfort Gbaruko assured the LP Candidate that the people of Ndagbo would give him their bulk votes, saying that they have suffered poor representation for too long.

“We are women and we know how we do it. We pray that God Almighty blesses you and preserves you and grants you success. Please, I am appealing to everyone here to support Aguocha because we have confidence in him. We have our PVCs and we shall use it wisely”, she assured.

Corroborating, the youth leader, Cmrd. Emeka Nnorom admitted that the people of his Community had suffered relegation over the years, saying, “we have tested the pains and suffering and no one can deny that we have suffered enough. And an adage says that: “when the sound of the music changes, the dancer changes his steps. We have our PVCs and we shall do the right thing this time because we have suffered.

Similarly, another indigine of the community who expressed immense confidence in the LP candidate recounted that: “For 24 years, Abia State has been suffering and not because there’s no money in the State but because of political profiteers who have enriched themselves and impoverished the masses.

“This journey started with Umuahia South, during which Acho Obioma, Chomen emerged as the representative and has gone round the Constituency. And this time it’s coming back to Umuahia North, it is therefore, expedient that we unanimously support our son from the other side of Umuahia which is Ohuhu to take their turn.”
