17 Imo Oil Well Recovery: Ohanaeze Youth Council Extols Gov. Uzodimma
…Urges Rivers Govt to sidestep

The recent Oli well recovery battle at the Supreme high court between Imo State and Rivers state by Sen. Hope Uzodimma’s administration has be described by Ohanaeze Youth Council, as one bold step and sincere gesture by Sen. Hope Uzodinma government.

The apex youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide- Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), through her National President, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka made this statement in Abuja, November 6 2021 during an interface with Media publishers.

Comrade Igboayaka recounted that “such oil politics scenario as was played between Beyelsa and Rivers, and Beyelsa took back their oil well, it has also happened between Cross River and Akwa-Ibom, and Akwaibom took back the oil, the boundary adjustment reports is very clear.

He described as insanity the attempt by River state government to struggle over an oil well duly situated at Mgbede and Akri, in Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta local government of Imo State, stressing that the National Boundary Commission, (NBC) adjustment report is empirically clear that Mgbede and Akri are in Imo State.

The council advised the River state government to voluntarily withdraw the case or Imo state government will also file another suit for the refund all the fund accumulated from the oil well since over 30 years they have been illegally taking from the said 17 oil well.

Comrade Igboayaka also advised Justice Mary Odili to show integrity in the case, adding, otherwise “be ready to be expose in anyway she engages to thwart justice against Imo State in the matter.”

Speaking further, he implored all hands to be ‘on deck’ in quest for the recovering of outstanding 17, calling for the unalloyed support of all well-meaning Imolites to the APC led government of Uzodima.

Hear him: “The case of recovering 17 remaining oil well is a collective responsibility of all the critical Imo stakeholders, elders, religion leaders and youths to throw their unalloyed support to Hope Uzodimma’s administration for this courageous step he has taken which other precedessor could not do.

Speaking further, he said: “It is applaudable that what other past Imo governors couldn’t garner political will and social-morality to fight for Ndi-Imo and Ndi-Igbo at large is what Sen. Hope Uzodimma has painstakingly denied his selfish gain, and he believes in ” Aku Zuo Oha” of Igbo philosophy, to get the remaining 17 oil well for wellbeing of Ndi-Imo”, Igboayaka reminded.

Meanwhile, he expressed confidence in supreme court and urged the court to look at National boundary Commission adjustment report and give appropriate verdict.
