10th NASS: Orji Kalu A Political Colossus — Bishop Eke
Abia- born cleric, Bishop Silas Eke has described the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu as a political colossus.
Eke, in a statement personally signed by him on Wednesday commended the former Abia State Governor for championing the cause for a better deal for the South-East geopolitical zone in the recently inaugurated 10th National Assembly.
According to Bishop Eke, Kalu worked assiduously to advance the political and economic fortunes of the South East geopolitical zone by championing the emergence of the 10th Senate President from the South East geopolitical zone.
The cleric who is the senior pastor of King Assembly Chapel urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress to unite the senators for a smooth 10th Assembly, describing the election of presiding officers as “highly competitive”.
The statement read in part: “Senator Orji Uzor Kalu once again proved his love for the South East geopolitical zone by championing the emergence of the 10th Senate President from the South East geopolitical zone. Senator Orji Uzor Kalu fought against the marginalisation of the South East geopolitical because political expediency, quest for national stability and cohesion dictates that the number three political position and the heading of the legislative arm of government should go to the South East.
“I admire his political doggedness and sagacity, and his steadfastness in pursuing whatever he believes in. He is a political colossus for championing the cause of the South East geopolitical zone, despite the pressure he faced across board. I congratulate him and wish him all the best in his political endeavor.”
