National Leadership of OrluZurumee Youths, the Youth wing of OrluZurumee Cultural Union has called on the public to disregard the alleged changing of the name of their newspaper, Community Watchdog, saying, the tabloid belongs to the Organization and not owned by Precious Nwadike, who is claiming to be the Publisher/ Editor In Chief of the newspaper.

In a press release signed by the National Publicity Secretary and General Secretary of the organization, Ikemba Don C. Uba, KSP and Comrade Desmond T. Ugwumba respectively and made available to newsmen over the Weekend has it;

“The attention of the OrluZurumee Youths, the youth wing of OrluZurumee Cultural Union, owners and publishers of your darling newspaper “Community Watchdog” has been drawn to a misleading publication on the same newspaper dated 16th June, 2020, which stated that the paper was about dropping or changing its brand name.

“This is not only false, malicious and misleading, but done with criminal intent to run down the newspaper which of recent has been a subject of criminal diversion by a sacked editor of the newspaper.

“For the records, the “Community Watchdog Newspaper” is a publication of this great body registered and incorporated with the company name of “Orlu Communications Limited”, and under the nation’s relevant laws for business since 2015.

“Our incorporated business company at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has the following as members of the Board of Trustees and Editorial board members:
1. Mr.Precious Nwadike
2. Mr.Darlington Uzoahia
3. Mr.Chikezie Oguejiofor
4. Ms.Steiner Opara
5. Mr.Ebere Okeke
6. Mr.Ikunna Pius C.
7. Prof.Uzorma Protus

“It is on record that none of those mentioned above is still working with him as Precious Nwadike resorted using the newspaper to attack and blackmail every Orlu Son and Daughter that refused to be hoodwinked by him.

“To that effect, we subsequently proscribed the Orluzurumee Youth Assembly (OYA) due to the bad name Precious Nwadike, a former National President of the organization, has given to all of us, which has caused all the right thinking persons from Orlu zone to disassociate themselves from the organization.

“However, we were not surprised when he regrouped his fellow like minds and fraudulently continued the use of that name with our certificate of registration which he vehemently refused to hand over to the new leadership of the organization led by Prince Arthur Madumere.

“This is informing the public that at no time has these board members come together to arrive at the decision to have our newspaper change its brand name. Therefore, the report you read was null and void.

“What happened was that the former President of our organization who was also the former Editor-in-chief of the newspaper, MR. PRECIOUS NWADIKE, had fraudulently diverted the newspaper’s property, and had even gone ahead to attempt to change members of the board of the company, all with the intent to criminally claim ownership of the paper.

“On the elections of new EXCOs under the leaderships of  Dtn. Darlington Uzoahia and the present leadership led by our able Prince Arthur Madumere, the youth body had punitively sacked the editor while querying him to account for his stewardship to the body with the paper since it started operations in 2015.

“This request, which has obviously remained in the public domain, plus the failed desperate attempts by Nwadike to get the CAC to delete members of the Board from their records are reasons he against all odds wants to quickly and surreptitiously establish his own newspaper, riding on the claim that our paper was changing its name.

“We are grateful that karma is currently at work, while chasing around the former editor of our newspaper who till date has not accounted for a dime of earnings from our newspaper. We are not surprised that he is still running up and down trying to free himself from the canes of the gods.

“We therefore use this opportunity to inform our reading public that the Community Watchdog newspaper remains and shall continue to serve you news with same name under a new leadership and management led by Prince Arthur Madumere  and which will be appointed soon.

“This is the position of Orluzurumee Youths, the owners and publishers of the “Community Watchdog Newspaper”.
