VC Lauds Alumnus, Comr. Sam Obinna Ibe, Receives Book Donation

The Vice-Chancellor, Abia State University Uturu (ABSU), Distinguished Professor Onyemachi Maxwell Ogbulu have received book donations from an Alumnus of Absu in the Department of Mass Communication.

Speaking while receiving the book titled “Professional Journalism, Practice Under Threat”, the Vice-Chancellor appreciated the Author, Comr. Sam Obinna Ibe, the Chairman Correspondent Chapel of Abia State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists for his good gesture and continued support to the University and Education Development.

The Vice-Chancellor charged him to continue in this pace of bridging the gaps between theoretical aspects of learning and practical experience especially in the field of Journalism, praying that God will strengthen him the more to actualize this dream.

Earlier while making the donation, Comr. Sam Obinna Ibe commended the Vice-Chancellor Distinguished Professor Onyemachi Maxwell Ogbulu and his Management team for his numerous achievements since assumption of office stating that giving back to the system that molded him has been his greatest priority.

The donation he explained is part of his contribution to improve the quality of education in the country as well as bringing practical experience to the class room for proper training and exposing Communication Students on field work situations they are likely to meet after graduation.

Later while interacting with the HOD of the Mass Communication Department, Dr. Madino Pascal Ihechu in his Office, he thanked the book donor for his uncommon efforts in Practical Journalism and Education Development.

HOD added that such high content books should be made available at the book shop for easy access to students, also he commended that the book will serve as a practical guide for our potential Journalist.
