The Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency has lauded the gradual ease of the lockdown by the Federal and state governments, describing it as a step in the right direction.
Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole stated this during an interactive section with some Journalists in Ozu Abam, in Arochukwu LGA of Abia state, his country home, Saturday, while celebrating the result of one of the index cases in Abia which returned negative, stressing that “God may have honoured the faith of the Governor regarding the pandemic.
“As both the federal and state Governments plan a gradual means of relaxation of the lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic, I have applauded moves to ease the lockdown.”
Nkole who admitted that the pandemic took the world unawares, expressed hope that the end “is near as nations are coming up with possible vaccines.”
According to him, the ease became necessary to ensure that hunger do not take hold of the people as the people, he insisted, needed to balance their meals to protect their immunity against the virus.
Amidst optimism, the Federal Lawmaker charged the frontline workers not to despair,
pointing out that Abia would be propelled to engage in the regular training of Health workers on proactive measures to health emergencies
Hear him: “I believe that Abia will come out stronger and advocate for the continuous training of the Health workers on proactive measures to health emergencies, as he prayed God to continuously guide and protect them as they strive to protect lives, while reiterating his pledge to continue with his existing palliatives for the people up until the lockdown elapses.
