Troops Kill 100 Bandits, Nab 148 in North West

The Nigerian Army today, Saturday revealed that troops of Operation Sahel Sanity had killed 100 armed bandits and busted 148 others in its ongoing onslaughts against the predatory hoodlums terrorizing North-West region of the country. The Nigerian soldiers also nicked 315 illegal armed miners and recovered 3,984 cows, 1,627 sheep in Katsina, Zamfara Kebbi and Sokoto States. A Lagos High Court has, yesterday, Monday, sentenced infamous kidnap kingpin, Chikwudubem Onwuamadike Evans to death. It would be recalled that Evans was arrested in June 2017 and arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and kidnapping. According to the Lagos State Government, Evans conspired on February 14th, 2017 at about 7.45pm at Ilupeju, Lagos, to kidnap one Donatus Dunu and collect €223,000 for his release.
