Prince Innocent Eleogu Rallies Support for Hon. Obi Aguocha’s Push for New Local Government Area in Ikwuano, Abia State
“Stakeholders in Ikwuano Local Government Area, Abia State, are rallying behind Hon. Obi Aguocha’s proposal for the creation of a new local government, describing it as a bold step toward deeper grassroots development, improved service delivery, and stronger political representation. The initiative is gaining momentum as community leaders and development advocates weigh its potential impact on governance and economic growth in the area.”
A prominent stakeholder in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, and Founder of Prince Innocent Eleogu Foundation, Prince Innocent Eleogu, has called on community leaders, professionals, youths, and other stakeholders to support the initiative by the Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, aimed at creating additional local government areas from the existing Ikwuano LGA.
Speaking on the development, Prince Eleogu described the proposed creation of Ikwuano North and Ikwuano South Local Government Areas as a strategic move that would accelerate grassroots development, improve governance delivery, and enhance the political relevance of Ikwuano within Abia State and Nigeria at large.

According to the National President of Ariam–Usaka Professionals, the initiative would bring the government closer to the people, enable quicker responses to community needs, and create opportunities for investment, job creation, and local business expansion.
“The creation of additional local government areas will fast-track the development of critical infrastructure such as roads, schools, healthcare facilities, and other social amenities, while also strengthening Ikwuano’s voice in the affairs of the state and the nation,” Eleogu stated.
The stakeholder further commended Hon. Aguocha for what he described as a tireless and courageous representation of the constituency, noting that the lawmaker has consistently pursued policies and projects aimed at improving the welfare of his constituents.
Prince Eleogu also recalled that his team had recently applauded the Executive Governor of Abia State for intervening in major infrastructure projects in the area, including the long-standing Umuahia–Ikot Ekpene Road and the Ariam–Usaka Ring Road, which he said would significantly boost economic activities and connectivity within Ikwuano.
He urged all relevant stakeholders—traditional rulers, community leaders, youth groups, women organisations, and professionals, both at home and in the diaspora—to unite and rally behind the proposed bill, stressing that collective support would be critical to its success.
“This is a defining moment for Ikwuano. With unity, constructive engagement, and sustained advocacy, this initiative can become a reality and secure a better future for our people,” he added.
